Fruitcake
It‘s been a long time since things have been right between best pals Holly and Mikey, who all but disappeared during the pandemic. Holly still hasn‘t forgiven him for being AWOL when her mum was dying, so when Mikey demands she return the Maroon 5 CD he leant her over a decade ago, she‘s not best pleased.

Anger turns into concern though when she finds out why Mikey has been hiding away. He‘s convinced he‘s a modern day Nostradamus. Holly thinks Mikey needs an urgent medical intervention but Mikey hasn‘t got time for that. He‘s seen a vision of a catastrophe worse than anything that‘s come before and he needs Holly‘s help to stop it.

Fruitcake is a romantic comedy for the existentially weary. Can we dare to hope, in the face of daily doomsday scenarios, that we might actually be able to change our world for the better?

'Tender, funny and occasionally disturbing, it's a beautifully constructed play that wrongfoots constantly.' ★★★★ The Stage

Marianne Dashwood, wild and impulsive, falls dangerously in love with the charming but roguish John Willoughby, ignoring her sister Elinor‘s warning that her impulsive behaviour leaves her open to gossip and innuendo.

Whilst Marianne wears her heart on her sleeve, Elinor suffers her own private heartbreak but conceals her true feelings, even from those closest to her.

Will the sisters learn that sense must mix with sensibility if they are to find personal happiness in a society where status and money govern the rules of love?
